Harvested in August of 2020, this wine was fermented in a single French oak barrel and rested in cellar for over a year. During its aging, we routinely stirred the lees which settle in the barrel to add flavor, depth, and complexity. The resulting wine presents an old-world inspired profile that compares to top dry Gewürztraminers produced in Germany and France.
Explosively aromatic, this single varietal Gewürztraminer oozes with intoxicating aromas of Turkish delight, mango, petrol, and saline. It is medium-bodied and round on the palate but finishes crisp with an old-world minerality. Reminiscent of Grand Cru Alsatian whites, this wine offers flavors of apple and pear, accompanied by notes of sourdough bread from the extended barrel aging on the lees.
